At Midwest Basement Systems, we don’t believe in asking customers for deposits and we commonly urge homeowners to be wary of contractors who demand any kind of money upfront. Beware of contractors who ask for a large portion of the money to secure a starting date or a discounted price for a given project, they may not come back.
Although it is quite a common practice for many contractors to ask for deposit, we believe that if the contractor is using typical materials to complete a project, they should not need your money to pay for these materials. Except in cases where the project requires installation of a custom build or specialty items – for example, custom made doors and windows or some custom made cabinetry. Throw away the stress, knowing you don’t need to pay a deposit upfront will give you confidence in your search for the right contractor for the job.
