Vern had bought this home as a project to remodel but wanted to make sure the foundation was stabile. He knew of Midwest and out reputation, so he gave us a call. System Design Specialist, Jordan Mullen, came out to meet with him. Jordan did his inspection and found damage to this home as it was a older home. The foundation was made up of a couple types as well. Jordan took these finding and came back to the homeowner with a solution. To combat this issue, Jordan proposed we use EverBrace. EverBrace is a full wall support system that permanently stabilizes the walls vertically and horizontally. Very loved this solution and we sent out our installation team. There is no doubt his basement is safe and he has the peace of mind he needs to start remodeling. 

This homeowner was living in their forever home, when they started to notice a musty smell in their living area coming from the crawlspace. He knew of Thrasher and our reputation, so he gave us a call to come out. System Design Specialist, Elliott Christians, came out to meet with him. Elliot did his free inspection of the area and off the bat noticed that his crawlspace was not encapsulated. Since there was no barrier between the dirt floor and the rest of the home, the moisture was seeping into the crawlspace and sending the smell to the rest of the home. Elliot came back to the homeowner with the findings and a solution. After some discussion, they decided to install drainage matting and CleanSpace for this issue. CleanSpace is our durable and waterproof tarp like material that is installed to the wall. This acts as barrier between the dirt crawlspace and the rest of the home. It keeps moisture and smells out keeping your home as safe as possible. The homeowner was very happy to have this job completed, and we know he has peace of mind not having to worry about the musty smell in his home.  

This homeowner wanted to keep her house up to date and make sure the basement windows were protected by good window wells. She gave Midwest a call because we had done waterproofing work for her in the past and knew we could get her taken care of. System Design Specialist, Austin Dermody, came out to meet with her. Austin looked at the area of concern, and saw the window wells she currently had were metal which were rusting out and not secured to her house. Water, snow, and other debris would get in the window well and cause issues. Austin went back to the homeowner, and discussed replacing the metal window well with a strong durable PolyWell and cover it with a strong, durable cover. This homeowner had been noticing her driveway getting worse and worse over the years. She knew she needed a fix, so she called Midwest! System Design Specialist, Elliot Christians, came out to meet with her. Elliot noticed the soil under the concrete was washed away over many years and caused the concrete to settle and crack. Elliot proposed we us our PolyLevel and NexusPro to lift and level the concrete, and fill in the joints the cracks. The homeowner trusted us, because we did her neighbors driveway as well. She was very happy with the information we went over with her about how the problems started and how we were going to fix them for her and loved the work when it was completed! We were so happy to help her and her neighbors not worry about their driveways anymore. 

These homeowners has lived with uneven concrete slabs that were getting worse for years. Their son was quite concerned because he saw that water was pooling in large quantities right next to his parent's foundation wall, so after discussing it with his parents, they gave us a call.

We sent System Design Specialist Tyler Paulson to inspect the concrete situation and help prevent any potential foundation damage. Tyler found that the concrete slabs were uneven and sloping towards the house, which lead directly to the sump pump. The sump pump was getting overwhelmed, and this is when water started to pool at the home's foundation. Thrasher arrived at the Casey, IA home and determined the large voids underneath the driveway were caused by the downspouts directing water towards it and washing the soil out. To combat this, the customer opted for our team to install the 2-part concrete protection system that consists of our PolyLevel foam and NexusPro sealer. PolyLevel is injected underneath the concrete to fill the voids and level the surface. NexusPro is then applied to all cracks and control joints to prevent any water from breaching the surface in the future. Combined, these two products provide a permanent solution to any broken or damaged concrete.

Kim H. lives in a home with a crawl space which can be cause for concern in several different ways. We installed an industrial-grade dehumidifier called a Sedona SaniDry in her crawl space. This was able to control the moisture and humidity while improving the air quality. Within a week there was a noticeable difference in the odors. Kim was very pleased to get back to living in a home without a musty smell.

Gilbert High School had some severely cracked concrete right on the entry sidewalk to the school. They had spray painted it yellow to highlight the area of danger, but eventually decided that this was not a long-term solution. They called Midwest Foundation Repair to get a quote on how much it would be to repair the sidewalk.

The school was pleasantly surprised that we could fix the pavement at such a reasonable rate. They had previously got a quote for the full replacement of the concrete instead of repair. WaterGuard is a piping system engineered specifically to be a very efficient and long lasting interior perimeter basement waterproofing system. Jesse went out to Boone and inspected the house and noticed some things that could be fixed. He noticed that Toby had water stains and cracks in the wall. Jesse suggested Toby fix his house with SmartJacks and an underground drainage system. The SmartJacks will stabilize the floor that is sagging. Toby also wanted to install the drainage system to rid his basement of water. WaterGuard is something that is installed along the perimeter of your basement and collects all intruding ground water.

Al noticed some uneven concrete areas in front of his house and wanted them to be fixed. The uneven concrete had created dangerous tripping hazards. He called Midwest Basement Systems and we visited his property to let him know how we could help him solve his problem. Al was ready to do it as soon as possible.

Our production team went out to Ames and leveled his concrete by drilling a hole into the ground and raising the concrete through that drilled hole by injecting PolyLevel. This process does not take long and it does not make a big mess. Al was very happy with the way it turned out that he said he would recommend us next time somebody needs help!

Doug was hanging out in his basement watching TV and noticed spots on his floor. He immediately knew that it was water because he had received a lot of rain in the past week. Our production team went out and installed the WaterGuard which took a few days. WaterGuard is designed not to clog, does not rely on filter fabric, has a big drain outlet to the sump, and will not cause structural damage to the foundation. WaterGuard sits on top of the footing, instead of alongside the footing. This will prevent the mud going into the drain. Doug was impressed by our work.

Greg was working around the house one day and noticed that his basement walls were caving in. He was concerned about the issue and wanted to get it fixed before it got wrose. He immediately called Midwest Basement Systems. We told him that we could get out to his house as soon as possible. 

When we went out to his house we knew his wall was the result of structural failure. We recommended PowerBraces be used to stabilize and straighten his wall. Greg told us to do whatever we needed to do. We were going to install Power Braces to stablize the failing foundation walls. Each beam was secured to the concrete floor at the base and to the wood floor system at the top to insure this problem would not happen again.
