System Design Specialist, Braydon Aker, came out to meet with them. Braydon did his inspection, and found there was very high humidity in the basement. This could have been from the soil in Iowa holding a lot of moisture throughout the year. They had a small dehumidifier that was not reaching all the square footage they needed to keep the levels down. Braydon proposed we install a new SaniDry Sedona that will reach the square footage of what they needed, which was a great upgrade to what they had before. They homeowners loved this solution and we sent out our installation team! They loved how small but how powerful this product was, and there is no doubt they are not stressed about mold growth any longer. 

This family was experiencing sinking and settling of their main stoop in front of their home. They were worried about trip hazards and water being directed into their basement. They knew of the Midwest reputation, and gave us a call. System Design Specialist, Brandon Cunningham, came out to meet with them. Brandon found there was poor compaction of soil in the slab, which was causing it to sink and start to crack. He went back to the family with these findings and together they decided on a solution. They decided we use Polylevel to lift and level the stoop back into place, and NexusPro to seal the joints and cracks. Tyler found the cracking was caused for the voids under the concrete, and that was being caused by washout from rainfall over the years, along with the recent drought shrinking the soil. This homeowner recently moved their entire home to a new foundation and poured brand new concrete last fall. Unfortunately, rain washed away the soil under the concrete, which created large voids, cracks, and settlement. To fix this issue, we used PolyLevel to lift and level the concrete and fill the voids. We then used NexusPro to fill in all the cracks.

A rental owner  in Newtown, IA was growing concerned over a sump pump in his rental property. The sump pump was very old and was worried that it would fail. He wanted a peace of mind in knowing the system would keep on working, so he gave Midwest a call.

The crew was able to identify that the current waterproofing system was not working properly. Water was coming out and running under the carpet to the drain on the other side of the wall. We installed a new water proofing system with WaterGuard and a Triplesafe Sump Pump. The space was also encapsulated with CleanSpace to prevent any water from coming through.

A Midwest Foundation Repair Service Technician was on an annual service call in Laurel, IA and noticed that the homeowner’s foundation walls were having signs of wall failure and deflection. The homeowner was unaware of this and after seeing this, he wanted a permanent solution.

Tama received a lot of rain therefore causing Tama homeowner Larry to call Midwest Basement Systems. He was concerned about the water that was coming into his basement. We told him that our System Designer, Tyler, would come out to his home and look at the problem.

Tyler visited Larry and noticed that he needed a new Sump Pump. We installed a new Sump Pump complete with a battery back up so in the event of a power outage, Larry's basement will still be protected!
