This business was worried that they wall would collapse and would have to get a new basement. They knew of Midwest and our reputation, so they gave us a call. System Design Specialist, Luke Miller, came out to meet with them. Luke did his inspection, and found the root of the problem. He found the foundation of the building is stacked stone. Overtime the mortar between the stones had become loose, causing the wall to lose its structural integrity and bow inward. To give this issue a permanent solution Luke proposed we use our Everbrace system. Everbrace was installed to cover the entire wall and support it evenly across its entire surface. Everbrace no only stabilizes the wall, but works in conjunction with out waterproofing system to address water leaks in the wall as well. The owners loved this solution, and we sent out our installation team. There is no doubt they have peace of mind for the health of their building for their business.
Amy was worried about the addition portion of the home being stable given the damage in garage. She could see daylight through the mortar of the blocks and was worried about how stable it was. System Design Specialist, Kevin French, came out to meet with them. Kevin did his inspection, and found the wall in the garage had been mostly removed and a beam was put in place to support the weight of the addition upstairs and the garage had been extended. The concrete block was not structural enough to support the weight of the home. The wall, the beam pocket, and the supporting beam has began to move and the wall was unstable. To stabilize the home, we installed a structural basement jack at the corner to support the beam. We then installed Power Braces around the perimeter of the garage addition so those walls would be stabilized. We also installed these braces to the North wall of the garage, as it was showing beginning signs of damage. Amy loved the solution and we know she has peace of mind of her home, additions, and garage.
This homeowner is getting older and was getting worried about trip hazards that were in her walkway and driveway. She had seen our ads on TV and decided to give us a call. System Design Specialist, Elliott Christians, came out to meet with her. Elliott did his inspection and found due to washout from the soil, the concrete was starting to settle. He came back to the homeowner with these findings and solution. Together, they decided we should install our Concrete Protection System. This would include PolyLevel, that would lift, level, stabilize the slabs, and NexusPro to seal the joints. A great thing about these two products, they are waterproof! This means this will help prevent any future washout. We sent out our installation team and got to work. There is no doubt she has the peace of mind she was looking for and does not need to worry about tripping outside of her home!
This homeowner lives on her own and can not go into the basement very often. She was worried about the walls caving in between times she could go down there. She knew of Thrasher, as she had work done previously. She knew we had a great reputation and wanted us back out. System Design Specialist, Kevin French, came out to meet with her. Kevin inspection her foundation and saw how badly the walls were bowing. He was glad she had us out when she did, otherwise it could have gotten much worse. Kevin proposed we use Power Braces to give support back to the wall. Power Braces are one of our foundation repair products. They are floor to ceiling braces installed to the wall. They are bolted to the floor and into the ceiling supporting beams. Over time it is possible to get the wall to straighten by torqueing the braces. The homeowner was exciting with this idea, and we sent out our installation team. There is no doubt that she has the peace of mind she was looking for.
This homeowner noticed their wall in the basement was failing. Since she uses the basement as a way to store her items, she was concerned the failing walls would damage her items. To prevent this, she called Midwest and we visited her home to perform an inspection. Tyler Dopheide was the one to inspect and he found that the current wall support system was not working well, and the wall was failing because of it. To fix this issue, we installed PowerBrace throughout the basement to help stabilize the wall. The homeowner was pleased with the work we did and is happy that her items are now safe!
Gail and Carol had their concrete leveled and sealed by Midwest in 2017. The work done in April of 2022 was warranty work, to raise the concrete again. At Midwest Foundation Repair, there is a 5-year concrete warranty for work done using our protection system. It is rare that more work will need to be done after the 5-year mark, but in this case, more stabilization needed to take place. The team was able to get out to Gail and Carol's home and assess the area. They were able to use PolyLevel to fill voids under the concrete that had formed, returning the slab to normal. They were then able to reapply NexusPro in areas that needed to be sealed. They were so happy that we stand behind our warranty's and do great work!
Linda M is currently in her forever home and built it to her liking. She now found that there was water in her basement from issues in her foundation. Linda knew she needed to fix this problem if she wanted to be happy in her forever home. She then heard about Midwest and wanted our help. We sent out our System Design Specialist to look at the water and foundation issue in her basement to best find a solution to permanently fix the problem.
After the inspection, we determined that installing a WaterGaurd and CleanSpace system would keep water out of her basement. Then we installed wall anchers and piers to support the home's foundation and walls.
Tracey G in Chariton, IA wanted to finish the basement and increase the amount of livable space in the home. Unfortunately, water had found it’s way into the basement, and this leak would need to be resolved before construction could begin. Fortunately for this small town in Iowa, Midwest Foundation Repair was there to help.
To keep the basement clean, dry and ready for finishing, we installed a full perimeter basement waterproofing system, including drain tile to route water to a newly installed sump pump. We also installed Clean Space vapor barrier along the basement walls to prevent moisture from contacting the studs, drywall and insulation that was part of the basement finishing.
In the end, this homeowner was excited to have the work completed so that they could start planning on ways to use their newly finished basement space. When asked why they chose Midwest for this project, they shared with us that our thorough inspection, explanation of the problem and how we planned to repair it gave them the confidence that we knew our stuff.
This Truro, IA homeowner noticed a foul smell coming from his basement every time it rained caused my water leaking into the home. They were familiar with Thrasher and our dedication to providing a permanent solution, so they gave us a call.
Thrasher arrived at the Truro home to perform a thorough inspection of the wet basement. The water seeping into the basement was caused by a failing foundation that was no longer watertight. Water follows the path of least resistance, therefore any cracks in the walls would allow this to happen. The customer opted to have our team install our WaterGuard drainage system and apply CleanSpace to the walls. CleanSpace is a plastic waterproof barrier that captures the moisture trying to enter to guarantee the basement stays dry year-round.
The homeowner was pleased with the solutions we were able to provide, and the efficiency at which our crew performed. The wet basement was permanently restored and is now a functional space for the homeowner once again.
Fred was walking around the garage this past weekend when it was nice out and noticed that the floor was not leveled. He almost tripped on the garage floor because of the cement. He has lots of granchildren and he doesn't want them to trip on the concrete and hurt themselves. He called Midwest Basement Systems and talked to one of our customer care representatives to set up an appointment with Jesse, our expert.
Jesse went out to the property and noticed that the garage floor was unleveled and told Fred that he should have us level it. He explained how we pump foam into the ground by drilling a hole the size of a penny into the ground and start pumping. Fred agreed to the process and signed the contract for Travis to come out and do the work.
Travis came out and started and finished the work in one day. Fred was impressed of how quick and easy it seemed. He was happy that Travis did it so fast. He was nervous that he wouldn't be able to drive in the garage for a while but Travis explained that he would be able to drive on it once he left the property.
Fred was so happy with the work, he wrote a review and said he would recommend anybody to Midwest Basement Systems.
