Waterproofing a Basement in West Des Moines

This homeowner has tenants living in her basement and wants to ensure they have dry living conditions. She was getting water into her basement because of heavy rain and hydrostatic pressure on her foundation walls that allowed water to seep in. We were able to fix the problem by fully waterproofing her basement. We used our WaterGuard system and CleanSpace system, to make sure no water comes off the walls or through the cracks. Now this homeowner and her tenants can have peace of mind knowing they won't have to worry about the water.

Discharge Repair in Marshalltown

This customer just moved into her home a year ago and gave us a call because she wanted to know all there is to know about waterproofing and what systems they currently had in place. While we were at her home we discovered there was a blockage in the discharge line to one of her pumps that a landscaping wall had crushed. In order to get the line to work we had to dig a new trench over the wall and replace the ice guard, the lawn scape discharge, and the drain line.

Unlevel Sidewalk Fixed in West Des Moines, IA

An un-level sidewalk is a common problem that Midwest Foundation Repair can quickly fix. Sidewalks endure significant wear and tear, and when the soil supporting a cement slab weakens, cracks and sinking can occur. There are several possible causes for this issue, such as erosion from rainwater, decaying tree roots, poor yard drainage, or improperly compacted dirt fill underneath the slab. Uneven sidewalk slabs pose a tripping hazard for your family, guests, and neighbors. At Midwest Foundation Repair, we have the solution. Our PolyLevel system lifts, levels, and stabilizes sidewalks. Additionally, for smaller cracks, we use NexusPro to fill and seal cracks and control joints.

Concrete Step Repair in Des Moines, IA

We recently had the opportunity to help Jan with her sunken concrete steps.  We were able to restore her steps to their original position and stability with Polylevel.  This happens by injecting polyurethane foam beneath the concrete through tiny ports, no larger than a penny. It starts off flowing like water, so it fills even the tiniest spots in the soil. As the foam expands and hardens, it lifts the slab and compresses the surrounding soil. Thanks to the fast drying time of PolyLevel, Jan was able to use her steps on the same day. At Midwest, we are committed to delivering high-quality foundation repair services that exceed our customers' expectations.

Settling Home Stopped Before The Damage Got Worse in Albia, IA

Concrete slabs can crack, sink, and settle over time due to poorly compacted soil. This can lead to issues like cracked floors and sagging interiors, which is what this customer was experiencing when they called us.

We used push piers that are designed to shift the weight of the foundation onto the piers and off of the soil. Our push piers work because they are able to reinforce at the critical tension point.  Our foundation pier systems are custom-designed and can be installed year-round. We offer options in black steel and galvanized steel for corrosion resistance. Our installation process is fast and our push piers come with a 25-year warranty.
