Flooded Crawl Space Now Dry in Bloomfield, IA

Steve S. was tired of having a musty smell in his basement. Water would be constantly coming into his crawl space, keeping it wet and allowing it to smell. Concerned with other problems this would cause, he decided to give Midwest a call.

The Midwest crew went out to the home and was able to come up with a solution to keep the crawl space dry. Drainage matting was installed on the floor and then the whole space was encapsulated with CleanSpace, a very thick linear to keep water from coming in through the walls and floor. A sump pump was put in to then water could be directed out of the crawl space and a dehumidifier was installed to keep the humidity levels low.

PowerBraces and a New Sump Pump in West Des Moines, IA

Homeowners Linda and Severin J. noticed that there was cracking on one of their foundation walls and were worried about the impact this would have on their foundation. Linda and Severin were also looking to update their sump pump. They decided to give Midwest a call.

System Design Specialist Nicholas Hruska went out to their home. Upon inspection Nicholas was able to identify three walls had structural defects. Their sump pump was also having mechanical failure and the basement had high humidity levels.  The crew installed three PowerBraces so the walls would be supported and stabilized. Then a new sump pump and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was also installed to control humidity. Linda and Severin were extremely pleased with everything and how the crew kept the area clean.

Drafty Crawl Space and Wet Basement Fixed in Nevada, IA

Gary H. was tired of having a musty odor in his basement each time it rained. He spends a lot of time in his basement, and it is very cold and drafty and a lot of excess moisture. Looking for a solution, he decided to call Midwest.

System Design Specialist Frank Lindsey went out to his home. Frank was able to see that the crawl space is attached to the basement and was creating a draft and musty odor. The crew installed drainage matting and CleanSpace to encapsulate the crawl space, so the walls would remain dry. We also removed existing insulation from the floor joists and ceiling. To keep the rest of the basement dry, WaterGuard was also put in, to direct the water out of the basement into the sump pump.

Crawl Space Supported and Insulated in West Des Moines, IA

Robert B. started to notice that the floors in the crawl space were sagging, and that doors and windows were not closing properly. Not wanting the problem to get worse, he decided to seek out a solution right away. After having Midwest come out to do other work, he felt comfortable in having us come back out.

We sent Service Technician Michael Holtz out to Robert’s home. Robert had already braced the crawl space but was ready to finish the job. The crew installed SmartJacks to support the crawl space and the sagging floors. Then also insulated the crawl space with SilverGlo helping the space become energy efficient. Robert was happy that we were able to create a permanent solution.

Shifted Concrete Leveled and Sealed in Des Moines, IA

Licona W. noticed that the concrete was settling and was worried about the concrete forcing water to poll by the garage and foundation. Looking for a concrete leveling solution, he decided to give Midwest a call.

System Design Specialist Rich Lathrum went out to Licona’s home. He was able to see that concrete slabs were sinking next to the foundation, allowing for water to poll and reverse slope. The crew was able to lift the concrete by using PolyLevel and NexusPro Joint Sealant to close up the joints and cracks preventing future water intrusion. Licona was happy with how the concrete looked once the project was completed.
