Homeowner Tiffany T. started to notice mold and water issues in the basement. She had major concerns about how this would not only impact her home but the foundation as well. Having had Midwest come out to her home before, she decided to give us another call.
Service Technician Brandon Rost went out to Tiffany’s home. He was able to identify that mold was forming on the interior walls and a section of foundation wall was failing. To stabilize the failing foundation wall the crew installed a PowerBraces. We encapsulated and waterproofed the entire basement with CleanSpace and WaterGaurd. To help keep the humidity levels down we also installed a Sedona SaniDry Dehumidifier.

Brad and Lisa S. are proud homeowners in Waukee, IA and noticed concrete of their entryway was beginning to lean forward away from the home. In addition, the driveway was lacking the protection it needed to survive the test of the time. The couple wanted to take care of these issues before they became more expensive over time and became a potential tripping hazard for their guests. In order to find a quick and permanent solution, Brad and Lisa reached out to Midwest to inquire about the variety of solutions we offer.
To begin the project, System Design Specialist Dan King arrived at the Waukee, IA home to perform a thorough inspection on the problematic concrete. It was clear the down spouts were pushing water towards the concrete and eroding the soils underneath causing it to lean. As a result, the control joints were beginning to fail and allowing water to seep in. Our teams began repairing the concrete by installing our PolyLevel foam to lift and level the leaning concrete. They followed this up by applying NexusPro to all cracks and joints to permanently prevent water from entering and causing future damage.
Brad and Lisa S. couldn’t have been more pleased with the appearance and effectiveness of the solutions we provided. They immediately recommended Midwest to all their neighbors for any concrete needs.

During an annual service appointment Service Technician Ryan Allen was able to identify foundation problems in Daryl B.’s home. During the inspection Ryan was able to show Daryl increasing wall failure and deflection. This led to a conversation about how to stop the wall failure from getting worse and permanent solutions to save the walls.
Due to moving soils and water issues, there was pressure on the walls which was leading to wall failure. The crew installed PowerBraces, which are galvanized I-beams that are securely fastened to concrete basement floors and attached to the joists, fully stabilizing the foundation walls from shifting ever again. Daryl B. was extremely pleased with this solution to prevent future issues.
By scheduling annual maintenance appointments, we were able to detect a problem and come up with a solution that led to earlier detection and cost savings.
