Basement Waterproofing Helps Sell House in Des Moines, IA

This homeowner was looking to sell her house, however it would not sell because the basement was having water problems. Her realtor suggested that she get these fixed before she tries to sell her house again, so she gave us a call.

We sent System Design Specialist Ryan Allen to inspect the basement water problems and come up with a solution that buyers would like. Ryan noticed that not only was there water coming in through the walls, but there was also mold on the construction materials, and the walls started bowing in. The walls were a fairly new problem, so Ryan knew just how to fix all of the basement issues. Our team removed the mold, then installed a CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier and PowerBraces to secure the wall and ensure that water could not get in, and that mold would not grow again.

The homeowner was glad to have these projects done and she was able to sell her house right away. Check out her basement solution!

Annual Maintenance Dehumidifiers in Steamboat Rock, IA

This homeowner had bought 3 different dehumidifiers in the last 3 years, and they had all failed on him. He was very confused as to why, so while he was doing his annual maintenance on his sump pump, he asked our Service Technician Austin Dermody to take a look at his latest failed dehumidifier.

Austin found that the unit that failed was too small and not providing enough power for the entire basement, so in trying to dehumidify the homeowner's basement, it broke. Austin knew the right dehumidifier for this homeowner, so he installed a SaniDry Sedona that would properly dehumidify the larger basement of the homeowner.

The homeowner was very pleased with this solution and how it worked for his basement. Check out the new SaniDry dehumidifier!

Poly Well Installation in Melbourne, IA

This homeowner wanted to protect their window from moisture as well as increase their curb appeal. They had used us previously for interior waterproofing in their basement, so they decided to give us a call about window moisture protection.

We sent Service Technician Brandon Rost to inspect the basement windows and determine why moisture was drawn to them. Brandon determined that the basement windows were at grade level which allowed dirt, snow, and leaves to pile up in front of them and cause potential problems of moisture. After talking to the homeowner, Brandon solved their problem by removing the dirt from around the windows and installing Poly Wells with covers to protect the windows.

The homeowner thought they looked pretty good. Check out their new Poly Wells!

Lifting Stairs in Dike, IA

This homeowner was struggling with his steps as they were tied into his foundation, yet they had started to settle and pull away from his house. He was unsure of what to do in order to fix this problem, so he called us.

We sent System Design Specialist Elliot Moles to inspect the steps and figure out what happened to the homeowner's steps. Elliot found that the steps settled due to soil erosion, however because they were tied into the foundation, this put an extra stress on the foundation that compromised the safety of the home. After talking to the homeowner about options to fix this, the homeowner decided to lift his stairs with us. Our team used Helical Piers to lift the stairs back to their original position and to secure the foundation.

The homeowner was happy with the project when it was complete. Check out his lifted stairs!

Driveway Leveling in Panora, IA

This homeowner was upset because his driveway slap had sunken 2-3 inches even after it had been mudjacked in the past. The longer this problem was, the harder it was to drive in and out of his driveway. Frustrated by this problem, he decided to give us a call and see what solutions we could offer.

We sent System Design Specialist Nick Wessling to inspect the concrete and find the root cause of the sinking problem. Nick found that the soil underneath the concrete was eroding because a poorly designed downspout was directing rainwater under the concrete. After discussing this problem with the homeowner, the homeowner was impressed that Nick found the root cause of the issue, and he wanted to move forward using Midwest to solve his problem. Our team installed buried downspouts leading away from the concrete to prevent any further damage, then they used PolyLevel foam to lift the driveway slab back to its original position.

The homeowner was happy that the root cause of the problem had been solved. Check out his leveled driveway!
